Vector to Raster Settings

Transform your vector drawings into crisp, high-quality raster images using reaConverter’s advanced Vector to Raster settings.
Whether you're preparing DWG/DXF schematics for web display or converting Gerber files for documentation, you can fine-tune every detail — scale the output to precise pixel dimensions, adjust line thickness for better visibility, and enhance overall clarity with just a few clicks.

How to convert vector drawings to high-quality raster images?

1. Open Images

Begin by loading one or more vector files into reaConverter. You can drag and drop files directly into the interface or add them manually. Supported formats include DXF, DWG, DWF, CGM, PLT, HPGL, Gerber, PDF, EPS, PS, SVG and more.

2. Adjust Vector to Raster Conversion Settings

Click the Menu button, then go to Loading settings and Vector to raster settings to access the customization options.

Here, you can fine-tune how vector files are converted into raster images:

  • Improve drawings appearance for

Check this option to enhance line clarity, shape rendering, and overall visual output. You can enable improvements for specific formats like:

    • DXF/DWG: useful for architectural plans and engineering drawings.
    • DWF/CGM: ideal for complex CAD diagrams or graphics used in industrial design.
    • Gerber: perfect for PCB layout files to ensure lines and pads render clearly.
    • PLT/HPGL, PDF/EPS/PS, SVG: for clean, publication-ready raster results.

  • Scale to image size

Set custom Width and Height (in pixels) for your output raster images. For example, increasing these values can ensure high-resolution outputs for printing, while reducing them is ideal for web usage.

  • Line width:

Define the pixel thickness of lines in the rasterized output. A higher value makes lines more visible, which is useful when converting technical drawings with fine details.

3. Save the Result

Once your settings are adjusted, head to the saving options. Select the desired output format, choose your destination folder, and click Convert.

reaConverter will process the files using your custom settings — delivering clear, high-quality raster images from your original vector drawings.

Converting Vector Images on Your PC

The fast and easy way to convert vector drawings to raster images is with reaConverter.

Vector to raster conversion from command-line

You can convert vector files using command-line interface, either manually or through automated scripts. reaConverter Pro includes a command-line tool called cons_rcp.exe — an advanced feature designed for professional use, available exclusively in the Pro edition.

DWG file conversion example:

cons_rcp.exe -s "C:\Path_to\input_file.dwg" -o "C:\Path_to\output_file.png" -v2r_improve 1 -v2r_formats "dwg" -v2r_line_width 1

Manual

-v2r_improve
where value = 1 if you want to improve drawing appearence for selected vector formats and = 0 otherwise
-v2r_formats
where value = list of selected formats (example: "dxf, dwg, dwf")
-v2r_width
where value = image width in pixels
-v2r_height
where value = image height in pixels
-v2r_line_width
  where value = line width
