CR3 to AI: what to expect from the conversion

CR3 files hold unprocessed sensor data, so white balance and exposure are still adjustable. Converting to AI bakes those decisions into the pixels, and highlight recovery is no longer available afterwards. Set white balance and exposure before the run rather than after. Lettering in the image is traced as shapes, not recognised as text. Every character arrives as an outline that can be scaled and edited like any other geometry, but not retyped, restyled or searched, and no font is attached to it. Titles and callouts on a scanned drawing usually have to be typed again in the AI if they need to stay editable.
