Converting PI to DIS

PI is an obsolete file format associated with Blazing Paddles, a graphics program created for Commodore computers. This brand was highly popular in the 1980s, with the Commodore 64 model being the best-selling home computer worldwide until this day. The PI extension can also be attached to images created or edited using Degas or Degas Elite, two image processing programs also released in the 1980s, but for Atari computers.

The DIS extension is associated with the DKB Ray-Tracer, a piece of software originally created by David Kirk Buck and Aaron A. Collins, which served as a predecessor for the POV Ray-Tracer. The latter software has the capacity to generate images from text-based scene descriptions and works on various platforms. Though fairly popular on PC/MS-DOS platforms at its release, the DIS format is now obsolete. It can, however, be viewed and converted to more accessible formats.

Load PI Files

Start reaConverter and load all the .pi files you intend to convert into .dis because, as opposed to most free online converters, reaConverter supports batch conversion. So you can save the time and energy you would lose with doing repetitive operations.

Select PIs from a folder or by drag-and-dropping them directly into the reaConverter window.

Choose Output Folder

Go to the Saving options tab and decide where you want to save new .dis files. You can also spend a few more moments to apply additional editing to the images prepared for conversion.

Select DIS as Output Format

Then pick the DIS as output format. To help you do this, a series of buttons is conveniently placed at the bottom of the reaConverter window, so you can simply press on the one you need or click Plus button to add new options.

Then simply press the Start button and your conversion will begin in no time!
