CDR to JP2: what to expect from the conversion
CDR describes geometry rather than pixels, so it has no inherent resolution. The conversion renders it at whatever size you choose, and that choice is final: enlarging the JP2 afterwards will not recover the sharpness. Set the output dimensions or DPI before converting, not after. CDR files are often prepared in CMYK for print, and JP2 is an RGB format. Colours are converted between the two spaces during the run, and saturated print colours can shift visibly. If the output is heading back to print, keep an untouched copy of the original.
