The label describes the dimensions, pixel type, byte order, target body, map projection, and instrument and acquisition details, and may be followed by additional objects such as history records, camera geometry tables, and polygon footprints. The label can be attached at the beginning of the file or stored in a separate file. The format is used for mosaics, map-projected images, and elevation models of the Moon, Mars, and other solar system bodies.
