DCR is a RAW image format associated with Kodak cameras. DCR images are uncompressed and do not include any of the default color and light correction associated with shooting in formats such as JPEG. One of the main advantages of using a RAW format is the possibility to obtain a better image quality following digital post-processing, with more visible details and better defined shapes, less noise and better adjusted white balanced.
The TGA (Truevision Graphics Adapter) format, also known as Truevision TGA or TARGA, is a bitmap file containing raster graphics and was initially associated with TARGA and VISTA boards. TGA files can be used on DOS, Windows and Mac OS X platforms for storing and transferring deep-pixel images. They support a color range of up to 24 bits and an 8-bit alpha channel. TGA files are associated with graphic adapters that can capture NTSC and/or PAL video images signals, and they are particularly popular in the domain of still-video editing.
The quick and simple way to handle your files is to get a quality piece of software, such as reaConverter. Although it is fast, this software is extremely efficient in managing a wide range of conversions. As you will soon realize, reaConverter will help you avoid spending countless hours trying to figure out how to convert DCRs. But at the same time, it will allow you to apply a wide range of editing options.
reaConverter is quick to download, install and launch, and you don't need to be an IT specialist in order to understand in a few minutes how it operates.
Start reaConverter and load all the .dcr files you intend to convert into .tga because, as opposed to most free online converters, reaConverter supports batch conversion. So you can save the time and energy you would lose with doing repetitive operations.
Select DCRs from a folder or by drag-and-dropping them directly into the reaConverter window.
Go to the Saving options tab and decide where you want to save new .tga files. You can also spend a few more moments to apply additional editing to the images prepared for conversion.
Then pick the TGA as output format. To help you do this, a series of buttons is conveniently placed at the bottom of the reaConverter window, so you can simply press on the one you need or click Plus button to add new options.
Then simply press the Start button and your conversion will begin in no time!Try Free Trial Version
