How to Convert Multiple DDS Images to JXL?
1. Download and Install reaConverter
Download reaConverter and install it in seconds. The setup is straightforward — no complex configuration, no extra software required. reaConverter also includes editing tools: resize, crop, rotate, and more.
2. Load your DDS files
Launch reaConverter and load the DDS files you want to convert. Add a few files or thousands, batch processing handles them all.
Drag-and-drop DDSs directly into reaConverter or use the folder browser to load entire directories.

3. Select JXL as output format
Set JXL as output format and select where to save your converted files. Customize quality settings if needed.

4. Start DDS to JXL conversion
Press Convert to begin processing. You can watch the progress or minimize and let it run in the background.

Your converted JXL files will appear in the destination folder as soon as processing completes.
DDS to JXL: what carries over and what does not
DDS and JXL both compress by discarding data, so this is a re-encode rather than a copy. The output is built from already-compressed pixels, and the artefacts of the first encode are carried into the second. Use a high quality setting, and convert from the original whenever you still have it.
