DPX File Format

DPX (Digital Picture Exchange) is a bitmap format that stores digital motion picture data. It is derived from the CIN (Kodak Cineon) format, utilized in film editing and processing with Kodak's Cineon System, which used to be particularly popular in the 1990s. DPX files store single frames from motion pictures of video data stream and their main advantage is that they can be exchanged among several types of computers and digital devices.
