GAL is a graphics file of HP Graphics Gallery, also known as HP Charting Gallery, business graphics software released by Hewlett-Packard for DOS PCs in 1989. The extension is also used by two other, unrelated formats: GenePix array lists, which are text files of microarray layouts for scientific scanners, and clip-art libraries of Corel Multimedia Manager.

DCX is a bitmap format and was initially developed together with the PCX format by Zsoft Corp. and was associated with PC Paintbrush.
