Converting HDR to TIF

The HDR format is associated with ArcInfo, a piece of software initially released in the 1980s by the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI). ArcInfo represents a geographic information system and it was originally designed only for command-line operation, but in recent years it had a graphical user interface release as well. HDR files are considered rare and are difficult to open using regular image viewers.

TIF (Tagged Image File) is a popular type of raster graphic file, suitable both for handling with various types of image editing software and with scanning or printing equipment. Since the 1980s when it was created, the TIF format has received a series of improvements, so at the moment there are several types of the TIFs available. Some of the main advantages of using TIF files include flexibility and high image quality.

Start reaConverter and load all the .hdr files you intend to convert into .tif because, as opposed to most free online converters, reaConverter supports batch conversion. So you can save the time and energy you would lose with doing repetitive operations.

Select HDRs from a folder or by drag-and-dropping them directly into the reaConverter window.

Choose Output Folder

Go to the Saving options tab and decide where you want to save new .tif files. You can also spend a few more moments to apply additional editing to the images prepared for conversion.

Select TIF as Output Format

Then pick the TIF as output format. To help you do this, a series of buttons is conveniently placed at the bottom of the reaConverter window, so you can simply press on the one you need or click Plus button to add new options.
