How to Convert Multiple PEF Images to HPG?
1. Download and Install reaConverter
Install reaConverter for fast PEF conversion. Quick setup, then you're ready to process entire photo shoots. reaConverter also includes editing tools: resize, crop, rotate, and more.
2. Load your PEF files
Open reaConverter and add your PEF files. You can load individual files, entire folders, or even nested subfolders.
Select PEFs from a folder or drag-and-drop them directly into the reaConverter window.

3. Select HPG as output format
Pick HPG as output format and choose the destination folder where you want to save new .hpg files.

4. Start PEF to HPG conversion
Press the Convert button and reaConverter takes care of the rest. Processing time depends on file size and volume.

After processing, find all your new .hpg files in the output location. The log shows details for each conversion.
What changes when you convert PEF to HPG
PEF files hold unprocessed sensor data, so white balance and exposure are still adjustable. Converting to HPG bakes those decisions into the pixels, and highlight recovery is no longer available afterwards. Set white balance and exposure before the run rather than after. PEF is made of pixels and HPG is a geometry format, so the two describe images in fundamentally different ways. Check the result before sending it downstream: what matters is whether the output contains editable geometry or a picture placed inside a HPG container, and that determines whether a CAD or design tool can work with it.
