QTK is the proprietary format used by Apple QuickTake cameras for shooting in RAW mode. QuickTake was an innovative digital camera released by Apple in 1994 — it represented one of the first models which could store digital photos and connect to an Apple computer to download them. Nowadays, however, QuickTake cameras are not directly compatible with the Mac OS X platform due to the absence of an old Apple Serial protocol. QTK images can be downloaded using special applications or programs, and converted to more accessible formats.
BPG is a new and promising image format, which currently provides the most advanced technology in image compression. Released in 2014 by software developer Fabrice Bellard, the BPG format has been shown to include the best quality/size ratio, when compared to other popular formats such as JPG or PNG. The number of image viewers that can open BPG files is currently limited, but is expected to grow in the near future. For easier access, conversion can be done to and from the BPG format.
The quick and simple way to handle your files is to get a quality piece of software, such as reaConverter. Although it is fast, this software is extremely efficient in managing a wide range of conversions. As you will soon realize, reaConverter will help you avoid spending countless hours trying to figure out how to convert QTKs. But at the same time, it will allow you to apply a wide range of editing options.
reaConverter is quick to download, install and launch, and you don't need to be an IT specialist in order to understand in a few minutes how it operates.
Start reaConverter and load all the .qtk files you intend to convert into .bpg because, as opposed to most free online converters, reaConverter supports batch conversion. So you can save the time and energy you would lose with doing repetitive operations.
Select QTKs from a folder or by drag-and-dropping them directly into the reaConverter window.
Go to the Saving options tab and decide where you want to save new .bpg files. You can also spend a few more moments to apply additional editing to the images prepared for conversion.
Then pick the BPG as output format. To help you do this, a series of buttons is conveniently placed at the bottom of the reaConverter window, so you can simply press on the one you need or click Plus button to add new options.
Then simply press the Start button and your conversion will begin in no time!Try Free Trial Version
