RDC is a RAW image format associated with Rollei cameras. This German brand is well known for the Rolleiflex and Rolleicord series, which include several high-end models that were initially developed in the 1930s and developed throughout the following decades. In the early 1990s, the brand became part of the South-Korean group Samsung, but nowadays it is again based in Germany and continues to provide medium-sized, 35mm and subminiature cameras for an exclusive target public. The RDC format can be opened by a limited number of viewers, so the best option is to convert it to a better known and more accessible format, such as JPEG or TIFF.
JP2 or JPEG 2000 is an improved version of JPEG, one of the most popular file formats for storing and transferring images. Compared to the latter, JP2 image files offer higher quality and smaller size images by using a different compression algorithm, which can be either lossy or lossless. JP2s are created using the JPEG2000 Core Coding application, but can also be obtained through conversion from other formats.
The quick and simple way to handle your files is to get a quality piece of software, such as reaConverter. Although it is fast, this software is extremely efficient in managing a wide range of conversions. As you will soon realize, reaConverter will help you avoid spending countless hours trying to figure out how to convert RDCs. But at the same time, it will allow you to apply a wide range of editing options.
reaConverter is quick to download, install and launch, and you don't need to be an IT specialist in order to understand in a few minutes how it operates.
Start reaConverter and load all the .rdc files you intend to convert into .jp2 because, as opposed to most free online converters, reaConverter supports batch conversion. So you can save the time and energy you would lose with doing repetitive operations.
Select RDCs from a folder or by drag-and-dropping them directly into the reaConverter window.
Go to the Saving options tab and decide where you want to save new .jp2 files. You can also spend a few more moments to apply additional editing to the images prepared for conversion.
Then pick the JP2 as output format. To help you do this, a series of buttons is conveniently placed at the bottom of the reaConverter window, so you can simply press on the one you need or click Plus button to add new options.
Then simply press the Start button and your conversion will begin in no time!Try Free Trial Version
