MiraMon is a geographic information system and remote sensing program developed in Catalonia at CREAF, a research center linked to the Autonomous University of Barcelona. A MiraMon raster is stored in two kinds of files: the image data in one or several .img files, and a text file whose name ends in I.rel, which describes how to read them. It tells how many rows and columns the image has, what the pixel values are, how the bands are named, how the picture is compressed, where it lies on the Earth, and how it should be colored by default. What are HPG files?
HPG is a vector image format created in a standard programming language called HPGL (Hewlett-Packard graphics language). Other extensions created in this language include PLT, HP2 and PL2. All are called "plotter files" and are created by drawing programs such as AutoCAD to be printed using a device specialized in vector graphics. An HPG file uses a line series of two-letter codes to render an image and can also include parameters.
