An embedded PNG thumbnail and a set of project notes with author, category and keyword fields are usually saved alongside the artwork. Files with this extension are commonly found in commercial template libraries for vinyl, cardstock, heat transfer film and device screen protectors. The same extension was also used many years ago by ColoRIX for raster images, so SCU files should be identified by their content rather than by their name alone.
What are HPG files?
HPG is a vector image format created in a standard programming language called HPGL (Hewlett-Packard graphics language). Other extensions created in this language include PLT, HP2 and PL2. All are called "plotter files" and are created by drawing programs such as AutoCAD to be printed using a device specialized in vector graphics.
