Vector geometry is held as move, line and cubic Bezier path segments and text objects reference installed TrueType and OpenType fonts, so curves and typography survive editing inside the application instead of being flattened. Version 6 continues the one directional compatibility of the format, opening SCUT, SCUT2, SCUT3, SCUT4 and SCUT5 projects while its own files cannot be loaded by earlier installations, and it also ships a batch tool for producing FCM files from SVG input for Brother ScanNCut hardware. External conversion to SVG, DXF, PDF or EPS is normally needed when a purchased template library has to reach a Cricut, Silhouette or laser workflow, when the outlines must be measured or edited in CAD, or when the original license and installation are no longer available.
