SST is part of the Gerber family of formats, which are used as standardized descriptions of layer data in the printed circuit board (PCB) industry. SST files describe the top silkscreen of a PCB, are created with Orcad software and can serve as input files for a photoplotting machine that produces such boards. Similar formats — describing different data, such as copper layers or electrical connections — include SMB, SMT and SSB.
