Converting AIP to CIN

AIP is a rare image file format associated with a software package called the Astronomical Image Processing System, which is used on radio telescopes. The software allows the reduction and analysis of recorded data and was developed in the 1970s by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in the United States. The AIP format is compatible with few image viewers and editors, so the best solution for making it easier to store and transfer is conversion to a more accessible extension.

The CIN or Kodak Cineon format is a raster graphics format originally associated with the process of film editing and production using the Cineon System designed by Kodak, developed during the 1990s. Though later on Kodak stopped producing this system, the CIN format remained popular especially in the process of creating visual effects. The format's main advantage is its ability to offer a high-quality rendering of scanned film negatives, thus allowing their future editing.

Start reaConverter and load all the .aip files you intend to convert into .cin because, as opposed to most free online converters, reaConverter supports batch conversion. So you can save the time and energy you would lose with doing repetitive operations.

Select AIPs from a folder or by drag-and-dropping them directly into the reaConverter window.

Choose Output Folder

Go to the Saving options tab and decide where you want to save new .cin files. You can also spend a few more moments to apply additional editing to the images prepared for conversion.

Select CIN as Output Format

Then pick the CIN as output format. To help you do this, a series of buttons is conveniently placed at the bottom of the reaConverter window, so you can simply press on the one you need or click Plus button to add new options.
