The KPS or IBM KIPS format stores a rare type of bitmap image that contains a color palette and is organized in an 8-bit per pixel range. The actual palette is included in a separate file, which might have the extension PAL or KPL. KPS images are usually difficult to open using regular image viewers, so converting them to a more popular format might be the best option.
