FAQ
MIDI to FAX Conversion
What are MIDI files?
MIDI files with the .midi extension store a musical composition as notes: which pitch is played, when, for how long, and how loudly, for each instrument. That is the content of a musical score, so programs for writing music can display such a file as sheet music on staves, let the user correct the notes, and print the result. The format is the same Standard MIDI File as .mid, and it contains no recorded audio, only the notes and the settings of the performance, such as the tempo and the time signature.
What are FAX files?
FAX files contain incoming or outgoing fax images created using specialized software, usually as part of a fax machine or a computer with a fax modem. This format is a fixed width Group 3 TIFF saved in black&white colors.
