An SCU file is an XML document that stores the complete layout of a cutting job, including vector shapes with their Bezier paths, text, groups and transformations, layer and stroke settings, page and cutting mat dimensions, and the target machine profile. An embedded PNG thumbnail and a set of project notes with author, category and keyword fields are usually saved alongside the artwork. Files with this extension are commonly found in commercial template libraries for vinyl, cardstock, heat transfer film and device screen protectors. The same extension was also used many years ago by ColoRIX for raster images, so SCU files should be identified by their content rather than by their name alone.

A CIT file represents a black-and-white raster image created using an Intergraph Security, Government and Infrastructure (SG&I) piece of software.
