What changes when you convert FITS to JP2

A scientific camera records 32 bits per pixel, and the signal of interest often occupies a narrow slice of that range, while JP2 shows 8. Conversion applies a display mapping, so two acquisitions that look identical afterwards can hold very different underlying intensities. Treat the JP2 output as something to look at and publish rather than something to measure. One FITS file can hold several pages or frames, while JP2 holds one image each. reaConverter writes a separate output file per page and numbers them, so a single input can produce a whole folder of results.
