How It Works

reaConverter offers the fastest, simplest solution for converting your GDB files into PDF without GIS software - all files processed on your PC for maximum privacy and speed.

Technical note

GDB to PDF: what carries over and what does not

PDF keeps the geometry as vector paths, so lines and boundaries stay sharp at any zoom, but the map becomes a drawing. Coordinates turn into positions on the page, the attribute table is left behind, and a standard PDF records nothing about where on earth the drawing lies. GDB carries no styling either, so colours and line weights fall back on defaults rather than matching the map in your GIS. A File Geodatabase is a folder, not a single file. The .gdb that appears in Explorer is a directory of numbered tables and indexes, and it only opens as a whole: copying or zipping part of it breaks the dataset. One geodatabase usually holds many feature classes, so expect several layers rather than one.

Map Data Workflow

Turn GIS data into something anyone can open

A map saved as PDF opens on any computer and any phone. reaConverter produces those from GDB in batch, entirely offline.

  • Render every file in a folder to PDF with the same size and settings
  • Set DPI and output dimensions before the run, not afterwards
  • Pick up new data automatically with Watch Folders, or script the job from the command line

Everything runs on your PC, which matters for cadastral, utility and client data that should not pass through an upload form.

I was skeptical about converting PDFs to editable formats, but reaConverter's PDF to Word conversion is surprisingly accurate. It preserves tables and formatting. For a one‑time job, I used the online version, but I'll definitely buy the desktop app for future work.
