FAQ
THF to APNG Conversion
What are THF files?
THF is the main file of a package in EDIGEO, the French standard for exchanging digital geographic data, and it is best known from the French cadastral plan, the digital map of land parcels that the tax administration makes available for every commune. A single EDIGEO delivery is made of several files with the same base name, and the THF file is the one that stands at the top: it describes the transfer as a whole and tells which other files belong to it. By itself it holds no map, and the parcels, buildings, and boundaries are in the other files of the package. Such packages are published openly for the whole of France and are widely used to produce local maps and to import cadastral data into other systems.
What are APNG files?
The APNG format is also known as "animated PNG" and is made up of a series of PNG files of the same size that are connected as an animation. APNG files are similar in function with GIFs, but they support better quality images and transparency.
